All we ask is that a few students (you?) join us for lunch at 12:30pm in the Student Lounge for the GRE/Recruitment Event on Nov. 17th.

Did you think that all those paper/online course evaluations you fill in during the last class go into a "black hole"?

Here is the final LBJ Student Directory for 2007-2008.

For all of you Journey fans at the LBJ School, you finally have an outlet for your long lost love. My band, Odyssey: Travis County's Premiere Journey Cover Band (voted the 4th best cover band by the Austin Chronicle Best of '007) will play on Friday night, October 12, at the Scoot Inn on E. 4th St.

The next few years should surely be good years to get jobs through LBJ School connections. With the imminent retirement of City Manager Toby Futrell, LBJ alumna Laura Huffman is a viable contender as her replacement. Toby teaches at LBJ in the spring semesters, and Laura frequently speaks to LBJ groups.

Hi everyone, attached to this blog entry is the draft lbj 2007 student directory.

Not many people wear helmets when they bike. Maybe it's because of style, maybe because you forget, or maybe you don't have the cash. If it is the 3rd reason, you should go to University Health Services on Dean Keaton. They sell quality helmets for $10. Don't lose everything you've worked so hard for because of a bicycle accident.

Hello LBJ peeps,
I'm a first-year and just found out that you can set up your personal laptop to use the printers in the Wasserman Library. I thought other first-years might be interested in this information. Just go to the links below and follow the steps.

Hi everyone,
There have been some issues with the lbjlivewire webpage not refreshing correctly. In other words, when you log-in, or submit other information, it may seem as though nothing has happened. The problem is that the page is not refreshing correctly. (I am trying to correct the problem, although it may not be fixed for a while.) Therefore, if you think you are experiencing this issue, just click the refresh button in your browser. This should ameliorate the situation.

Hello to all!
It takes awhile to settle in, but it'll happen. Make sure to pen in Brown Bags on your calendar for Wednesdays from 12:15-1:15 pm in the Lounge. Next week's a bye week. The first one is tentatively scheduled for September 12th. I'll update you once it's confirmed.
Other than that what do you need to know?
-They occur every Wednesday
-Speaker ideas should be sent to me at mkholody [at] gmail [dot] com or mkholody [at] mail [dot] utexas [dot] edu
-Just show up. Be ready to listen, ask questions, eat some food, and take a break between classes.

Breaking news: Giuliani announces his candidacy for the 2007 GPAC presidential race Saturday afternoon at a campaign rally.

Pundits questioned his interest in the student government elections for the LBJ School of Public Affairs - a school he had never attended and in which he would be ineligible for any electoral position. Insiders were quick to note that his excellent fundraising potential and skilled legal team clearly trumped any unfounded concerns regarding minutiae of the GPAC Constitution.

LBJ Friends,
As I asked you this morning over email, we can (and we should) vote in the UT Student Government elections online today and tomorrow.
I talked to you about why it is important to vote and why we, as the graduate school related to policy and government, should set the example. Now I'm going to talk to you here about some specific actions I want to pursue as the LBJ Representative.

If anyone out there is selling tickets to the Aggie game on the 28th, please let me know, I'm interested in purchasing in bulk.
