The LBJ Writing Center offers LBJ graduate students individual writing consultations on all stages of the writing process as well as year-round graduate writing seminars titled Communicating Policy and PR Design. Communicating Policy reviews and builds upon the core competencies of writing students have acquired throughout their academic career and extends them to more specialized forms of public affairs writing such as op-eds, public administration memoranda and more. PR Design assists second-year students will all aspects of the professional report writing process.
Classes consist of detailed lectures and occasional group work designed to help students work step-by-step through the PR writing process confidently and effectively. Please refer to the LBJ Writing Center website for a variety of online resources, appointment requests, workshop schedules, opportunities for publishing, and more. Talitha is a great resource to help students with any level of writing expertise, and attending her seminars will help you have a leg up when writing the numerous memos you will have to construct for your classes.
