[i][u]Executive Committee[/u][/i]: The Executive Committee consists of the President (Ellen Satterwhite), Vice President (Ross Tomlin), Internal Financial Director (Barksdale English), Student Life Officer (Akram Al-Turk), and Professional Development Officer (Katherine Samuels). Executive Committee members are expected to devote significant time to their GPAC roles, will assist General Assembly members and other student leaders with the full range of activities throughout the year, and will assist in various funding and policy decisions as they arise. [u]How 1st-Year Students Can Get Involved[/u] [b][i]Elections for the following positions will be held during the first week of classes[/i][/b], and GPAC meetings will be held once every two weeks after that. There are two positions on the Executive Committee for first-years, as well as, numerous positions on the four standing committees. For more information on standing committee positions feel free to contact on the current representatives listed with the committees. [b]Executive Committee Positions for First Year Students[/b] [i][u]Secretary[/u][/i]: Record and preserve the minutes and correspondence of GPAC. This includes authoring General Assembly meeting minutes and compiling minutes from Standing Committee meetings; execute all GPAC correspondence, provide to the General Assembly copies of all official business available, and create a permanent record for the posterity of the organization; responsible for managing the legislative process, including receiving legislation. [i][u]External Financial Director[/u][/i]: Co-chair the Finance Committee with the Internal Financial Director; responsible for all fundraising activities such as merchandise sales, business card sales, and locker rentals; have signing authority for financial transactions in addition to the Internal Financial Director; work to find outside sources of funding for GPAC, such as through Student Government; liaise with the Outreach and Professional Development Committee to assist with fundraising from alumni and other members of the community.
